Humanity has reached a pivotal point in history! A bold statement or just an opinion? You decide. I am not here to make any predictions. Some of you may agree, others may not.
As the world changes, I’ve found it more important than ever to take an honest look at myself – to really assess who I am.
- What are my core values?
- What do I stand for?
- What are my strengths and weaknesses
- How can I grow, become a little better every day
- How can I contribute and add more value to the world
- What is my purpose, why am I here?
- Why am I the way I am? And is that good enough
- What future do I want to take part in creating
When pondering these questions – breathwork has been an extremely powerful tool in my journey of self discovery.
Breathwork is an intentional practice of controlling breathing patterns to enhance well-being and access altered states of consciousness -ultimately promoting healing and personal growth.
I have learned more about myself than any books could have taught me.
Most of all, I have learned to trust and believe in myself and access my potential, without relying on outside validation.
The mental health crisis:
Self-discovery isn’t just a personal journey – I believe the whole world is at stake.
And I truly believe, many people can benefit from the powerful modality of breathwork.
I recently read that suicide is the second leading cause of death for teenagers in the US
Depression, anxiety and drug use is on a constant rise worldwide and skyrocketed after the Big Break in 2020.
Not only amongst adults, college students or teenagers, but also amongst pre-teens.
More and more people complain about being stressed out or working too much. They lack energy, enthusiasm and purpose. It is harder and harder for people to find meaning and fulfillment in their jobs.
And then they blame others for their failures and their misery.
We are still fighting over who is wrong and who is right!
And that in the 21st century: There is nothing lacking. We have more of everything. If our ancestors would see us today they’s say:
You have everything and more than we could have ever imagined. All our dreams turned into reality. Yet you are still fighting over who is wrong and who is right? You still want more instead of appreciating what you already have?
At the same time, we are being bombarded:
- With news
- Social media
- Other forms of distraction
The media is not here to inform, just to entertain! And since our brains are still programmed for fight and flight – negative news catches attention!
Pulling humanity out of the present moment. Sending the masses of humanity into fight or flight mode. Our energy is constantly being drained in order to create wealth for those who offer all these mind distracting products.
Worst of all, due to stress, lack of time and the power of advertising, people chose to put harmful processed food in their system. Out of comfort and easy. Draining the energy even further.
Materialism adds to ever growing landfills, our oceans are polluted with microplastic – a study in 2019 found that 80% of Black Friday sales are thrown away within a very short period of time
I am not trying to paint a dark picture – I believe the future is brighter than many can imagine. However I see an urgency to act. NOW
In order to break the cycle, humanity needs to understand that fulfillment doesn’t come from outside resources, only from within.
Those who seek fulfillment through consumption will die just to find out that they never truly lived.
Breathwork is a catalyst for change. Breathwork can assist finding your true inner worth – crucial component for true fulfillment

What is the solution?
- An open mind and an open heart. The ability to think critically and question everything – with loving kindness.
- Mental clarity and awareness.
- Focus – a superpower that all of us have. We just need to learn how to use it.
What is the importance of breathwork in the world we live in?
My first breathwork experience let me question everything I believed about myself – everything that I learned growing up about reality.
My major awakening took place, when I realize :
Opiates don’t have any power over me other than the power I give to them.
How was I giving them power:
- Blaming them
- Believing in the power they had over me
- Holding on to old beliefs from early childhood
- Feeling guilt, shame and regret for my lifestyle choices
Instead, I found gratitude. I learned to openly talk about my past and not demonize it.
How would finding gratitude for the darkest part of your life change who you are today?
For me – I gained a certain freedom that I had not experienced before!
How can breathwork contribute to world healing?
First of all, breath is not only essential for life, it is also a tool to access deeper levels of consciousness. A tool to unlock unused human potential.
It is a tool to access parts of our mind that are hidden on the surface level. Important parts of who we are that have a greater influence on our lives than I ever used to acknowledge.
A Quote from Carl Young comes to mind:
Until we make the unconscious conscious it will dictate our lives and we call it fate.
When you change your mind, you change your life. And that is the power of breathwork. It can help us get out of the thinking mind and access the subconscious mind – the part where all answers and solutions are hidden.
Through this process, breathwork can ignite a massive healing potential from within. Physical, mental and spiritual healing.
- Depression
- anxiety
- addiction
- even cardiovascular diseases
just to name a few – can be significantly improved or cured by simply changing the way you breathe.
It can ignite healing on both the mental and physical level – as all is connected, slight changes in our mental health can make a huge difference in physical health.
Most of all, and I believe that is where the true power lies, it can help you to shift your focus. Change the angle you look at things and things will change.
It can bring awareness to consciousness and deepen the understanding of who you are.
Breathwork has radically transformed my life. It has radically changed how I see myself, others and the world in general
How you see the world greatly depends on what you focus on. The information and the thoughts you let inside your mind dictate how you see the world.
A person can make himself happy, or miserable, regardless of what is actually happening “outside,” just by changing the contents of consciousness. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
At the same time, it ignited a curiosity that I lost since early childhood. I developed a Growth Mindset with a passion for reading and life long learning.
Not only did I understand how being in my comfort zone hurt me over time – I also learned to welcome discomfort as I know it is essential for my own personal growth.
I experience a level of freedom that I have never experienced before.
Freedom is a mental construct
When you reclaim your focus, you reclaim your power!
At any given moment in time, you have a choice:
- What you focus on
- What meaning you give to things
- What actions you take
You decide if a situation is causing you misery or, if you find the good in each situation. It’s both there, all the time.
You may realize that no one and no thing has any power over you, except the power you voluntarily give away.
All you have to do is open your mind and shift your focus. Look at things from a different perspective. And, understand others instead of judging them.
I truly believe that breathwork can have a major impact on where humanity is going. Only when you learn to use what is already inside of you, healing can happen. Because all true healing happens from within. By healing the individual the individual will contribute to world healing.
If you know where you are going, but can’t seem to take the first step – you may need some help. Those who play the game can’t see clearly. However, an outsider can always see where you are standing in your own way.
